Welcome
I am thrilled to have joined the Moulton Community and feel privileged to be leading the Sixth Form Team at this exciting time. Having worked with Sixth Form for over 10 years I am keen to build on some excellent practice and bring my experience to support and challenge the learners at Moulton. I am delighted that you are considering joining us here.
It is our aim to create an ethos in our purpose built block, that is professional, motivated and successful, whilst always supporting individual students. As young adults who are getting ready to make their own way in the world, it is important we support them not only academically but also as well rounded citizens, and this comes through knowing our students well. Our main focus has to be achieving strong individual outcomes, and this is more likely with personalised support and a sense of belonging to a strong community, which we are proud to be building.
Between our fantastic facilities and varied course choice, Moulton Sixth Form has a lot to offer. We have a mix of traditional, facilitating A Levels and more vocational BTECs, in a wide range of subjects. When students aren’t in lessons with our brilliant teachers, they have a great space to call their own, combining areas to study with facilities to support conversation and down time, and our own cafe.
We ask all of our Sixth Form students to be role models, through community service and work with younger students. The leadership and communication skills are vital in building confidence and preparing students for life after Sixth Form. We also offer a detailed programme of support for Next Steps, whether that’s university, apprenticeship or employment; we help each individual decide on the right future path and how to get there.
I hope that the videos and course guide will provide you with all the information you need to make the correct Post-16 choice for you. High expectations, a strong community and personalised support will help each Moulton Sixth Former to be the very best version of themselves. We look forward to welcoming you.

Introduction to Sixth Form
A Student's Perspective
Sixth Form students at Moulton School are fortunate enough to benefit from a purpose built Sixth Form centre that has won architectural awards and acts as the hub of Sixth Form life.
Whilst the school day runs from 08.45 to 15.15, the Sixth Form Centre is open from 08.00 to 16.00 each day, allowing students to make use of the resources and facilities before and after school in order to complete work.
The centre comprises eight tutorial rooms, where the majority of Sixth Form lessons are taught, including a science lab dedicated to A-level lessons. In addition to these teaching rooms, the centre boasts a large student room that is home to a Costa Coffee Bar and offers students an area to eat, socialise and complete quiet study. The student room leads out onto the Sixth Form garden.
The Coffee Bar in the student room opens from 10.00 to 14.00 each day. The Bar sells a range of hot and cold beverages as well as a selection of sandwiches, baguettes and pastries and hot meals.
The spacious two-storey library offers students access to a suite of networked computers with printing facilities as well as housing a catalogue of text books to support your studies and university and career guides to help you plot your future.
The ground floor of Sixth Form centre houses personal lockers that are available for students to hire and is also the base for the Sixth Form student services team, who manage the library and administer the Sixth Form.
