Training to be a Teacher

Our primary provider of trainee teachers is the Grand Union Teaching Partnership, based at Sponne School, Towcester.

‘The Grand Union Teacher Training Partnership is an experienced school-centred initial teacher training consortium with nearly 20 years experience of training teachers in Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes. Working with a close network of primary and secondary partnership schools, most of our trainees live in the Northampton and the Milton Keynes area and the scheme is very conscious of its role in training local people for employment in their home area.

School Experience Program

If you are just starting your teaching journey, then the School Experience Program could be for you.

Experience in a school is essential if you are interested in becoming a teacher. Before you apply for teacher training, you'll need to gain as much experience in the classroom as possible in order to strengthen your application, and prepare you for potential interviews.

Moulton School is part of the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) ‘School Experience Programme’, which offers prospective trainee teachers the chance to see what it’s really like to be a teacher.
